Troop 170 follows a strict boy run program.  The boys in the troop develop leadership skills by planning all meeting activities, campouts, and events.  The troop camps every month from September through June and attends summer camp. The troop calendar can be linked to from the homepage.  Feel free to stop by any of our Thursday meetings with a parent to meet the troop.   

The Boy Scouts of America requirements to join a troop are:   Complete the 5th grade Or Be at least 11 years old Or Receive the Cub Scout Arrow of Light award.

It is NOT necessary to have been a Cub Scout to join a Boy Scout troop to join Troop 170

  1. Meet the above requirements.

  2. Complete a new membership application, which can be found on the forms page.

  3. Give the completed form and membership fee to the scoutmaster.  The membership fee includes:

    • Dues for the first year

    • One pair of red epaulets for your uniform

    • One set of troop numerals for your uniform

    • One Troop 170 neckerchief (receive patch after 1 year membership.)

    • One copy of the Boy Scouts of America handbook
